The Erie County Health Department sends out real-time alerts to notify community members when there is a spike in overdoses in our community. As part of our Drug Overdose Response Plan, our Drug Overdose Response Team (DORT) monitors overdoses in the county and notifies the community through spike alerts.
A spike is indicated when the total number of suspected overdoses for our county exceeds a pre-determined threshold within a 48 hour period. These spike alerts allow us to take action as a community. Please fill out the form at the link above to receive overdose spike alerts.
